Meet The AKA Team

Anthony Green, known as Coach, is the owner of AKA Hauling Commercial Driving School, LLC and brings decades of experience in transportation, training, and leadership. He served 24 years in the military, including eight years as an instructor, and has more than 16 years of experience as a CDL driver in Alaska’s construction industry. He also owned and operated a successful trucking company in Anchorage, where he oversaw major construction projects and led the Anchorage City Snow Haul for four years.

Mr. Green holds an associate degree in Heavy Duty Transportation and Equipment and has served for more than six years as an adjunct professor in UAA’s Diesel Technology Program. Throughout his career, he has trained individuals pursuing their Commercial Driver’s License across Anchorage and rural Alaska. He is committed to workforce development and takes pride in helping young people and career changers prepare for stable, rewarding careers in the commercial driving industry.

Derrick Anderson has more than 40 years of experience as a CDL driver and over 18 years of management experience in the construction trucking industry. For the past six years, he has worked alongside Mr. Green in training students pursuing their Commercial Driver’s License. He holds AAA Driver Improvement Program Instructor Certification and is a State-certified Commercial Driver’s License Instructor and Examiner. Derrick is dedicated to helping students build safe driving habits, confidence, and real-world skills for success in the industry.

Leonard Lawson serves as a State Certified Examiner at AKA Hauling Commercial Driving School, LLC. As a former student of the program, he offers valuable firsthand perspective and a strong understanding of the path students take as they prepare for their Commercial Driver’s License. He is known for his professionalism, consistency, and commitment to maintaining high standards throughout the examination process.
